CBDT Amends Tariff Rate for Certain Goods

Finance & Taxation ComplianceThe Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) on August 12, 2022 has issued Amendment to Notification No. 36/2001- Customs (N.T.), dated August 3, 2001, which specifies “Fixation of Tariff values”. This shall come into force on August 13, 2022.

The following are the few goods whose Tariff value has been amended (in $) namely: -

• Crude Palm Oil – 1035 per Metric Tonne

• RBD Palm Oil – 1082 per Metric Tonne

• Gold, in any form, in respect of which the benefit of entries at serial number 356 of the Notification No. 50/2017-Customs dated 30.06.2017 is availed – 579 per 10 gram

• Silver, in any form, other than medallions and silver coins having silver content not below 99.9% or semimanufactured forms of silver falling under sub-heading 7106 92 - 668 per kilogram

• Areca nuts – 6853 per Metric Tonne
