The Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) on July 16, 2020 has issued guidelines on functioning of office during Covid-19. In light of COVID-19 pandemic, it has become necessary to set up a ‘reserve team’ for essential activities who shall not come in contact with other employees.
The following arrangements are made in consideration of the above:
1. Electrical Section Office division
2. Transmission Section Substations
3. System Operations Division
4. More than one control rooms to be set up so that it can be operated in the event of an emergency, by the reserve team.
5. Measures to be taken so as not to interrupt the power supply due to any emergency relating to Covid-19.
6. Staff members should avoid all unnecessary travel and should utilize the residential facilities within the station.
7. 50% of the current workforce in the centralized customer care to be immediately transferred to the temporary call center set up in the 8th floor of Vaidyuti Bhavan, Trivandrum and start functioning immediately.
8. All offices outside containment zone to function normally.
9. Officers above the rank of Executive engineer/Accounts officer to be present in office on all days. If the office is in a containment zone or lockdown area, only 50% of the staff may be required.
10. All employees must compulsorily wear masks at all times.
11. Respective authorities to ensure that contractors and supervisors undertaking construction and repair activities follow all the directions issued by the Board and the Government.
Concession may be given to employees coming from containment zones with perimeter control on presentation of affidavit that his place of residence falls within a containment zone along with a copy of the order from the District administration declaring the particular place as a containment zone.
