The Government of Meghalaya on July 18, 2020, has issued a prohibitory order under Section 144 of CrPC to prohibits certain activities from July 20, 2020 to July 27, 2020 from 5 AM TO 9 PM each day in all of the East Khasi Hills District including Shillong Urban Agglomeration, Civil Sub-Divisions of Sohra/Pynursla and C&RD Blocks.
Following activities have been prohibited:
• Inter-State Movement
• Operation of unregulated major markets and unregulated shopping complexes.
• Markets located on Inter-State Borders.
• Operation of cinema halls, gymnasiums, swimming pools and other such entertainment activities.
• Large public gatherings.
• Entry into the district except medical emergency cases.
• Funerals shall be carried out with 20 guests.
