The Meghalaya Government on July 26, 2020 announces several geographical areas as containment zones and Buffer Zones under the provisions of the Meghalaya Epidemic Diseases, COVID-19 Regulations, 2020.
The following are the areas in Meghalaya declared as containment zones:
• Shiv Mandir Block 2, Pynthorbah
• Bhogee Chaudary- Bilco
• Dongkamon Nongmynsong
• Mawpat Circle 1 & 3
• Saint Nanak School Lane, Pynthorbah
• Mawpat Block 3
• Mawpat Block 1
• Nongsohphoh, Upper Mawprem
• Maxwelton
• Mawlai Nongpdeng
• Umshing, Umjapung
• Rauf Ahmed Building, Keating Road
• Oakland, Municipality Quarters
• Mawlai, Umjaiur
• Mawlai, Mawtawar
• Nongmynsong, Lumkdait
• Nongrimmaw Block- D
• Nongrim Hills
The Government of Meghalaya declared complete lockdown in the town of Shillong for three days from July 24, 2020 midnight to July 29, 2020 midnight.
Following measures shall be taken in all the containment zones:
• No movement shall be allowed in the containment zones.
• No political, social, or religious gatherings shall be allowed in these areas.
• Shopping establishments should not be operational. All the medical and essential supplies will be provided by the District Administration.
• All Government and Private Institutions shall remain shut.
• This order shall not apply to health workers and essential workers, press including electronic media and Petrol Pumps.
