class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) on July 21, 2020 has issued the Food Safety and Standards (Laboratory and sample Analysis) First Amendment Regulations, 2020 to further amend Food Safety and Standards (Laboratory and sample Analysis) Regulations, 2011.
Following amendments are made in Food Safety and Standards (Laboratory and sample Analysis) Regulations, 2011:
Ø A new rule 2.4 has been inserted which specifies the approval of rapid analytical food testing kit, equipment or method, which states, “Food Authority may approve Rapid Analytical Food testing Kit, Equipment or Method for the purpose of testing of Food”.
Ø The procedure for approval of Rapid Analytical Food Testing Kit, Equipment or Method shall be as per the guidelines that may be framed by the Food Authority from time to time.
