Industry Specific ComplianceThe State Government of Karnataka on August 26, 2020 has issued the Karnataka Excise (General Conditions of Licenses) (Amendment) Rules, 2020 to further amend the Karnataka Excise (General Conditions of Licenses) Rules, 1967. 

The following amendments have been made

• In Rule 23, a proviso has been inserted which specifies the conditions for the license to obtained from the commissioner, namely: 

“Provided also that subject to Rule 5, in case of CL -11 (C) licence, the Deputy Commissioner of Excise may permit the licencee to shift the location of his shop:

1. from the limits of one Grama Panchayat to the limits of another Grama Panchayat within the district, in respect of 463 CL-11 (C). 

2. from the limits of one Grama Panchayat to the limits of another Grama Panchayat within the same Legislative Assembly constituency, in respect of additional 900 CL-11 (C) licences.”
