Commercial Complianceclass="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">The Punjab Excise Commission, on September 16, 2020 has introduced Punjab Distillery (Second Amendment) Rules, 2020 to further amend Rule 5 of the Punjab Distillery Rules, 1932 which mandates the prior approval of the Excise Commissioner for lease or sub-lease of the licensed premises on payment of a fee equivalent to the fee for grant of new license in Form BWH-2, has been substituted, namely:

“The license shall be in form D-2 and shall not be transferable, except with the prior approval of the Excise Commissioner. The Excise Commissioner may on the request of the licensee, allow lease/sub-lease of the licensed premises, if he deems it appropriate, on payment of a minimum fee as specified in sub-rule (1) of 4 of the Punjab Bonded Warehouse Rules, 1957.”
