The Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development and Fisheries Department of Andhra Pradesh on December 10, 2020 has issued the Andhra Pradesh Aquaculture Seed (Quality Control) Rules, 2020.
The following provisions have been made:
• The aquaculture seeds that are being sold in the state shall comply with the quality standards mentioned by the Government.
• Any person/firm/company involved in the collection or sale of the wild aquaculture seeds shall be punished.
• The seeds shall be stocked within the state and shall not be taken outside the state limits.
• The samples shall be collected and then they shall be given to the Sample Collector.
• Cost of the aquaculture seeds shall be paid to the licensee in cash or receipt and a receipt of acknowledgment shall be provided for the same.
• The aquaculture seeds shall be certified by the APSADA and the sale of the uncertified seeds shall be banned.
