Industry Specific ComplianceThe Ministry of Labour and Employment (MoLE) on December 15, 2020 has issued the Coal Mines (Amendment) Regulations, 2020 to further amend the Coal Mines Regulations, 2017. The following regulations shall come into force from June 30, 2021. 

The following amendments have been made: 

• Regulation 13, which specifies the submission of application, has been substituted, namely: 

“Application for an examination conducted by the Board shall be made to the Board not less than sixty days prior to the date fixed for the examination in a manner and on a form specified for the purpose. Provided that, if examination is conducted by computer-based test mode, application for examination shall be made to the Board not less than thirty days prior to the date fixed for the examination in a manner and on a form specified for the purpose. Notice regarding the date and place of the examination for the Manager’s Certificate, Surveyor’s Certificate and Overman’s Certificates shall be published under the order of the Board in such periodicals or by any other means as the Board may direct, not less than sixty days prior to the date fixed by the Board for receiving applications. Provided that, if examination is conducted by computer-based test mode, notice regarding the date and place of the examination shall be published under the order of the Board in such periodicals or by any other means as the Board may direct, not less than thirty days prior to the date fixed by the Board for receiving the applications”.
