Telangana Government exempts industrial units from certain provisions of Labour Laws

Labour ComplianceThe Labour Department of Telangana on February 15, 2021 has issued a notification exempting industrial units under certain provisions of the labour law. 

The following labour Acts have been taken into consideration:

• Telangana Labour Welfare Fund Act, 1987

• Telangana Factories and Establishments (National, Festival and other Holidays) Act, 1974. 

• Contract Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act, 1970

• Inter State Migrant Workmen (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 1979.

• Minimum Wages Act, 1948

• Industrial Employment (Standing Orders) Act, 1946

• Payment of Gratuity Act, 1972

• Maternity Benefit Act 1961

• Motor Transport Workers Act, 1961

• Payment of Wages Act, 1936

Permits self-certification in respect of the compliances given under the Annexure-II in the notification to be filed online, without taking away any of the employee benefits and subject to verification on complaints, if any, to simplify and minimize the compliance burden of labour laws on the businesses until further orders.
