EHS ComplianceThe Uttarakhand Pollution Control Board (UKPCB) has prohibited the production, sale, marketing, storage, etc. of Single Used Plastic (SUP) under the Uttarakhand Plastic and Other Non-Biodegradable Garbage (Regulation of Use and Disposal) Act, 2013.

The following rules has been made: -

1) Prohibition of single used plastic under the Uttarakhand Plastic and Non-Biodegradable Garbage (Regulation of Use and Disposal) Act, 2013.

2) Bio-Compostable plastic bags and polybags more than 50-micron thickness used for handling collection, transportation of the waste such as bio medical waste, municipal solid waste and hazardous waste are excluded.

3) The amended Penalty for: -

• Manufacturer/transporter – Rs. 2,00,000/-

• Whole seller/Traders – Rs. 1,00,000/-

• Individual Users- Rs. 100/-

4) The six month period will be provided to the factories or units those who are engaged in the production of Single Used Plastic in the state.
