The Transport Department of Puducherry has issued a notification has amended the penalties for the offences punishable.
The following nature of offences have amended penalty:
• Demand of excess fare by Auto/ taxi/Stage Carriage.
• Travelling on the running board or on the bonnet of the vehicle.
• Failure to report transfer of vehicle within the time limit.
• Plying a vehicle with registration mark of other state for more than 12 months.
• Failure to intimate changes in the address.
• Non-functional signal devices.
• Speed limiting
• Without reflector or colour strip
• Registration mark not displayed.
• Driver without uniform
• Misbehaviour or use of abusive language.
• Smoking in the vehicle.
• Advertisement on vehicle without permission.
• Without wiper.
• Vehicle without horn
• Extra passenger on driving seat
• Driving school without a license.
• Improper display of emergency information
• Cruelty with animal
• Driving vehicle with left side steering
• Use of coloured lights.
• Traveling without pass or ticket.
• False information given.
• Issue of certificate of fitness.
