The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has cautioned the general public in regard of some external elements, falsely claiming/posing as officers/employees of CPCB entering into industries, operations, etc for checking and monitoring and issue instructions notices.
Therefore, Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) cautioned the general public that: -
• CPCB is a statutory body for the prevention and control of pollution and directions issued by the board to the concerned persons/organizations are communicated only through authorized post and authorized email id at [email protected], [email protected].
• No third party has been authorized by the Board to inspect the Industries, Operations, construction sites, etc. or to issue any instructions or paste notices.
• Directions regarding prevention and control of pollution are issued only under the signature of the Chairman, CPCB, and the information of all such Directions is available on the website of CPCB ATTENTION https://www.cpcb.nic.in under the heading 'Directions issued by CPCB'.
• The list of officials of Central Pollution Control Board is available on its website https://www.cpcb.nic.in under the title 'Contact Us’.
Further, Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) issues Do’s and Don’ts which are: -
• Do’s
• For confirmation of Directions regarding prevention and control of pollution, Check the website.
• Ask the person claiming to be officer/inspection team of the CPCB to show the authorized identity card issued by the Central Pollution Control Board.
• Seek information such as name and details of the in-charge of the Division of the Central Pollution Control Board.
• The details of the phone number, email and office address of the vigilance officer is provided at https://cpcb.nic.in/contact-directory.php.
• In case of non-confirmation by the Vigilance Officer/in doubtful cases, lodge a complaint against such persons with the local police station and also inform the Chief Vigilance Officer of Central Pollution Control Board in writing or by e-mail.
• Don’ts
• Do not allow the person claiming to be officer/inspection team of the CPCB without showing the authorized identity card issued by the Central Pollution Control Board.
• Do not accept notice/direction from any source other than authorized post (speed post) or authorized email @gov.in, @nic.in.
