The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare on September 9, 2021 has issued the Plant Quarantine (Regulation of Import into India) (Sixth Amendment) Order, 2021 to further amend the Plant Quarantine (Regulation of Import into India) Order, 2003.
In Schedule VI of the Plant Quarantine (Regulation of Import into India) Order, 2003 the amendment are as follows: -
• In Serial no 53 which specifies “Brassica spp. (Mustard, Rape/canola, Cabbage, Cauliflower, Kohlrabi, Brussels sprouts, Broccoli, KnolKhol, Chinese Cabbage and other Cole crops)”, the following entries has been inserted: -
(ii) Brassica oleracea var. capitata (Cabbage)
(iii) Brassica oleracea var. botrytis (Cauliflower)
• In Serial no 67 which specifies ‘Capsicum spp. (Pepper/ Chillies), the following entries has been inserted:
(ii) Capsicum annuum (Chilli)
• In Serial no 113 which specifies ‘‘Daucuscarota(Carrot)’ the following entries has been inserted:
(ii) Fresh vegetable for consumption
• In Serial no 158 which specifies ‘Glycine spp. (Soybean)’ the following entries has been inserted:
(ii) Glycine max (Soybean)
