The Social Welfare and Women Empowerment Department on November 17, 2021 has issued a notification for use of aadhaar under the Aadhaar (targeted delivery of financial and other subsidies, benefits and services) act, 2016 for enrolment of beneficiaries under national social assistance programme.
The following have been notified namely: -
• An Individual desirous of availing pension under the above Schemes is required to furnish proof of possession of Aadhaar number or undergo Aadhaar authentication.
• An Individual who do not possess an Aadhaar number or has not yet enrolled for Aadhaar, is hereby required to apply for Aadhaar enrolment.
• The applicants are hereby requested to apply in any Aadhaar enrolment centre / permanent enrolment centre to get enrolled for Aadhaar.
Till the Aadhar is provided the pension shall be given on the basis of the following documents namely:-
• Aadhaar Enrolment Identity slip/Copy of request made for Aadhaar Enrolment.
• Bank passbook with photograph; (or)
• Voter identity card issued by the Election Commission of India; (or)
• Ration card; (or)
• Permanent Account Number (PAN) Card issued by the income Tax Department; (or)
• Passport; (or)
• Driving licence
In order to disburse the pension in a convenient and hassle-free manner to the beneficiaries, the District Collectors shall make all the required arrangements including the following, namely:-
• Wide publicity through electronic and print media shall be given to make beneficiaries aware of the requirements of Aadhaar under the above Schemes and they may be advised to get themselves enrolled in the nearest Aadhaar Enrolment Centres available in their areas, in case they are not already enrolled. The list of locally available Enrolment Centres shall be made available to the beneficiaries.
