The Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation on January 19, 2022 has issued Circular regarding the relaxation of provisions under Gas Cylinder Rules to facilitate fast track approval to import Medical Oxygen Cylinders for storage and transportation of medical oxygen.
The following was stated namely: -
• Exemptions under Gas Cylinder rules are extended to June 30, 2022 if certain conditions are met namely: -
1. Empty cylinders to be imported shall be manufactured in accordamce with the Indian/International Codes.
2. Used Cylinders has been restricted from being imported.
