Industry Specific ComplianceThe Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board on February 14, 2022 has issued the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (Authorizing Entities to Lay, Build, Operate or Expand City or Local Natural Gas Distribution Networks) Amendment Regulations, 2022 to further amend the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (Authorizing Entities to Lay, Build, Operate or Expand City or Local Natural Gas Distribution Networks) Regulations, 2008. This has come into force on February 14, 2022. 

The following has been amended namely: -

• Regulation 5(6)(b) which specify “Criteria for selection of entity for expression of interest route - entity is technically capable of laying and building CGD network as per the following qualifying criteria” the following clause (v) has been inserted namely: -

“Entity has an adequate number of technically qualified personnel with experience in construction, pre-commissioning and commissioning of hydrocarbon steel pipelines and also has a credible plan to independently undertake and execute the CGD project on a standalone basis.”
