The Ministry of Mines on March 15, 2022 has issued Further amendments to the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957.
The following has been amended namely: -
• Second Schedule item 16 which specify “Dunite” has the following entry 16A inserted namely: -
“Emerald - Ten per cent. of average sale price on ad valorem basis”.
• Second Schedule Item 20 which specify “Garnet” has the following entry 20A inserted namely: -
“Glauconite and Potash - Two point five per cent. of price for Muriate of Potash published by the Government of India, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Department of Fertilizers chargeable on the contained K2O in ore produced for those dispatched for making such Muriate of Potash”.
• Second Schedule item 32 which specify “Crude Mica, waste mica and scrap mica” has the following entry inserted namely: -
“Molybdenum - Seven point five per cent. of London Metal Exchange Molybdenum metal price chargeable on the contained Molybdenum metal in ore produced”.
• Second Schedule item 44 which specify “. Sillimanite” has been substituted namely: -
“Sillimanite, Kyanite and Andalusite - Twelve per cent. of average sale price on ad valorem basis”.
