Finance & Taxation ComplianceThe Finance Department, Kerala on May 5, 2022 has issued Notification on Implementation of Rule 9D which specify “Calculation of taxable interest relating to contribution in a provident fund/or recognised provident fund exceeding specified limit.” This has come into force on April 1, 2021.

The following has been stated namely: -

• Fresh statement needs to be prepared and issued, showing taxable and non-taxable contributions to PF separately with opening balance and closing balance and interest accruing thereon by the Office of the Accountant General and respective Provident Fund controlling officers, in case of General Provident Fund and other provident funds respectively, in addition to the Provident Fund Annual Accountant Statement.
