The Government of Karnataka on May 18, 2022 has issued Draft Karnataka Educational Institutions (Classification, Regulation and Prescription of Curricula, etc) (Amendment) Rules, 2022 to further amend the Karnataka Educational Institutions (Classification, Regulation and Prescription of Curricula, etc.,) Rules, 1995.
The following has been stated namely: -
• Rule 3 which specify “Prescription of classes relating to Primary and Secondary Education for the purpose of clauses (25) and (32) of section 2” has the following proviso inserted namely: -
“Provided that, If the Management which is already running primary school i.e., from classes 1 to 8 or from 6 to 8, in the same premises, submits an application for registration and recognition of class 9 and 10 in the said premises, it shall be deemed to be considered as up-gradation or continuation of education for the purpose of registration and recognition purpose only.”
Objections and suggestions may be addressed to the Principal Secretary to Government, Education Department (Primary and Secondary Education), M. S. Building, Dr. B.R.Ambedkar Veedhi, Bengaluru-560001 before 15 days from May 18, 2022.
