The Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development & Fisheries Department, Andhra Pradesh on May 27, 2022, has issued a Notification regarding the Incidence of Glanders in the Guntur District. This has come into force on May 27, 2022.
The following has been stated namely: -
• Government declares Guntur District as a “Controlled Area”
• Prohibition of movement of animals belonging to bovine species from the place where they are kept to any other place within or outside the State.
• Prohibition on holding of fairs, exhibitions, and gatherings of such animals in the district.
