The Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Haryana on May 25, 2022 has issued Advisory on Heat Wave and Preparatory action for Heat Wave Season -2022-23 to protect animal from thermal stress.
The following Guidelines has been stated namely: -
• The shed of the animal shall be well ventilated and the ceiling shall be high.
• The shed should be facing from East to West
• The shed should be equipped with fan and/or desert Coolers
• The Drinking water set at an adequate temperature or slightly cooler should be available at all times
• As there will be decrease in the availability of Green Fodder, the same should either be made available or could be substituted with silage.
• Animals must be fed early in the mornings and must be fed by evenings/nights
