Govt. of Kerala imposes ban on Single use plastic

The Government of Kerala on July 03, 2022 has issued a notification regarding the ban of single use plastic which was notified by Government of India to be implemented by July 01, 2022.

the Govt. shall take Strict legal action against those who manufacture, distribute and use banned products. Initially, a fine of Rs 10,000 to Rs 50,000 will be imposed. If found guilty, action will be taken including cancellation of the license of the establishment.

The Govt. of Kerala has brought this ban into effect from July 01, 2022, the following products have been banned:

candy stock, earbuds with a plastic stick, plastic ice cream stick, plastic sticks in balloons, plastic film wrapping sweets, invitations and cigarette packets. Non-woven outer plastic carry bags, plastic garbage bags (other than those for bio-medical waste), single-use plastic tablecloths, plates, tumblers, cups, thermocol/styrofoam decorations, plates, tumblers, single-use plastic trays, forks, plastic-coated paper Cup, Plate, Bowls, Leaf, Bags, Plastic Flags, PVC Flexes, Plastic Coated Cloth, Polyester, Nylon, Korean Cloth Banners, Drinking Water Pouches, PET/PET below 500ml, Drinking Bottles, Brands of Vegetables and Plastic Packets.
