The Ministry of Defence (MoD) on July 12, 2022 has issued a notification regarding the central Government authorisation to authenticate Aadhaar for ‘echhawani’ project under Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and Other Subsidies, Benefits and Services) Act, 2016.
The authority for Aadhar Authentication has been provided for the following purposes:
(i) Lease renewal & extension;
(ii) Mutation of Freehold properties.
The Directorate General of Defence Estates shall adhere to the guidelines with respect to use of Aadhaar authentication as laid down by the Central Government.
