The Government of West Bengal on June 27, 2022, issued a notification regarding banned on Single-Use Plastic.
• The following Single Use Plastics have been banned namely: -
(a) Earbuds with plastic sticks" plastic sticks for balloons, plastic flags, candy sticks, ice cream sticks, polystyrene [Thermocol for decoration];
(b) Plates, cups, glasses, cutlery such as forks, spoons, knives, straws, trays, wrapping or packaging film around sweet boxes, invitation cards and cigarette packets, plastic, or PVC banners with thickness of less than 100 microns and stirrers.
This Notification shall come into force from the first day of July 01, 2022.
