The Ministry Of Environment, Forest And Climate Change (MoEFCC) on July 21, 2022 has issued the Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Amendment Rules, 2022 to further amend the Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016.
The following amendments have been made:
• In rule 9, which specifies Utilisation of hazardous and other wastes, sub-rule (4) has been inserted, namely:
‘‘(4) The utilisation and management of waste tyre shall be in accordance to the provisions contained in Schedule IX.’’
• Schedule IX, which specifies Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) for Waste Tyre has been inserted.
