The Ministry of Road Transport and Highway (MoRTH) on July 29, 2022 has issued Clarification on Policy Guidelines regarding Accommodation of Public and Industrial Utility Services along and across National Highways regarding OFC/Telecom cables.
The following has been clarified/amended namely: -
• Clause 4 which specify “safety clearance from respective authorities for those who intend to obtain permission”, the following has been stated:
“For OFC/Telecom cables laying applications, the need of mentioning various safety clearances are dispensed with. The application shall mention details regarding license from telecom authorities only.”
• The clause which states “Application shall be put out in the public domain for 30 days for seeking claims and objectives” has been stated namely: -
“For laying underground OFC/Telecom cables in NH RoW, the need for putting applications in public domain is dispensed with. Hence applications for OFC/Telecom cables to be processed expeditiously and approval must be given within 30 days”.
