The Government of Himachal Pradesh on August 01, 2022 has issued a notification to declare a public holiday in certain constituencies where the by-elections are happening on August 10, 2022 (Wednesday) to the voters of respective Gram Panchayat , Wards of Gram Panchayat / Wards of Panchayat Samiti / Wards of Zila Parishad where By- Elections to fill- up the casual vacancies in Panchayati Raj Institutions.
All Government Offices, Boards, Corporations, Educational Institutions and Industrial Establishments under Industrial Disputes Act and shops will remain closed on the said date in the area of concerned Institutions where by-election of PRls are scheduled to be held. This will also.be a paid holiday to daily wages employees and also within the meaning of Section 25 of Negotiable Instruments Act 1881.
It is also clarified that special casual leave may be given to those employees who are working in different places in the State but have a right to vote in concerned institutions (where By-Election to fill- up the casual vacancies in PRIs are scheduled to be held) on the production of certificate from the concerned Presiding Officer that the employee has actually cast his / her vote.
