The Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) on August 03, 2022 has issued Standard Operational Procedure (SOP) to settle claims in cases of death due to Industrial Accident.
The following has been stated namely: -
• Incase of any death, the information must be submitted so that immediate follow up action to settle the claims can be taken on priority.
• The following are the few benefits available for the kin of the deceased:
1. EPF accumulation in their EPF Account with up to date Interest.
2. EDLI benefits as per Employees’ Deposit Linked Insurance Scheme, 1976.
3. Monthly Children Oension up-to 2 children till 25 years of age, when one children will attain 25 years thereafter 3rd child will start receiving pension till 25 years of age and so on.
• The absence of availability of immediate information on urgent basis shall be treated as violation.
