The Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC) on August 19, 2022, issued the Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (Multi Year Tariff) (First Amendment) Regulations, 2022 to further amend the Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (Multi Year Tariff) Regulations, 2019.
The following amendments have been made:
• Regulation 56.3 has been inserted, namely:
“All the new intra-State transmission systems costing above a Threshold Limit and meeting other conditions as laid out in Annexure-IV, shall be developed through Tariff Based Competitive Bidding in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Central Government under Section 63 of the Act.”
• Annexure IV has been inserted which states that Threshold Limit for Intra-State Transmission System to be developed through Tariff Based Competitive Bidding.
