Industry Specific ComplianceThe Government of Punjab on August 31, 2022, issued a notification to approve the digitally signed documents to promote digitization in the working of the Government. 

The following have been stated: 

• Approving authorities of the Government services shall use digital signatures to approve the digitally processed applications.

• The provisions of the IT Act 2000, digitally signed documents shall be treated as equivalent to handwritten/signed/stamped/hologram affixed documents.

• All such digitally signed documents shall have Unique Document ID/Serial Number/QR Code printed on them, which shall be verifiable online. (To ensure the authenticity of the online verification process the , verification website must use 'gov.in', 'nic.in, 'edu.in', 'res.in', 'ac.in', 'mil.in' or other domains which are exclusively allotted and restricted to Government.)

• Authorities shall not insist on production of documents bearing physical signatures, or holograms, or stamps where digitally signed documents have been provided/submitted.
