The University Grants Commission (UGC) on September 02, 2022, issued guidelines for It is commonly recognised that multidisciplinary education fosters active academic and peer groups and helps students develop into well-rounded persons.
The National Education Policy 2020 places a high priority on the transformation of higher education institutions into significant multidisciplinary universities, colleges, and HEI clusters. The UGC has created "Guidelines for Transforming Higher Education Institutions into Multidisciplinary Institutions" in response to the rigidity of disciplinary boundaries in higher education institutions. The rules are supplied as a copy. It is advised that all colleges and universities take the required steps in accordance with the criteria to develop into interdisciplinary institutions.
