EHS ComplianceThe Department of Environment, Chandigarh on September 09, 2022 has issued directions regarding ban/prohibition on procuring, stocking, sale & use of Nylon thread. This has come into force on September 09, 2022.

The following has been stated namely: -

• Complete ban/prohibition has been imposed on procuring, stocking, sale & use of Nylon thread and other synthetic/cotton threads coated with glass and such other harmful substances using for kite flying in the whole Union Territory of Chandigarh

• No person including a shopkeeper, vendor, wholesaler or retailer, trader, hawker or Pheri wala etc. shall sell, store, use or dispose of any kind of Nylon thread which is also called 'Chinese Dori' or 'Chinese Manjha' and other synthetic/cotton threads coated with glass and such other harmful substances using for kite flying in the Union Territory of Chandigarh.

• No person (including any company) shall manufacture, import, store, sell or transport any kind of Nylon thread which is also called 'Chinese Dori' or 'Chinese Manjha, and other synthetic/cotton threads coated with glass and such other harmful substances using for kite flying in the Union Territory of Chandigarh.
