The Government of Karnataka on September 13, 2022, issued the Karnataka Municipalities (Amendment) Act, 2022 to further amend the Karnataka Municipalities Act, 1964 to exempt taking approval for building plans in rural areas from the Department of Town and Country Planning and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.
The following amendments have been made:
• In the Karnataka Municipalities Act, 1964, section 387 has been omitted.
• The Karnataka Municipalities (Amendment) Ordinance, 2022 has been repealed.
This act shall be deemed to have come into force with effect from August 12, 2021.
