The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) on September 16, 2022, allowed Aadhaar Authentication for the purpose of usage of digital platforms to ensure good governance, and the same was proposed to the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, which vide O.M. No. 13(2)/2022-EG-II (Vol. II), dated November 04, 2020, and the Ministry has allowed Aadhaar authentication for the purpose of usage of digital platforms.
The following have been notified, namely:
• Any individual desirous of availing various services mentioned in para (2), online through the portal (Parivahan.gov.in or mParivahan application), is required to undergo Aadhaar authentication (on voluntary basis); Provided that any person who does not have Aadhaar number may avail such service in physical form by establishing the identity by submitting an alternative document physically with respective Authority as per CMVR 1989;
• The online services for which a citizen is required to undergo Aadhaar authentication are listed in the table.
