Industry Specific ComplianceThe Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) on September 30, 2022, notified that Draft Central Motor Vehicles (……………Amendment) Rules, 2022 will further amend the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989.

The Draft of the Central Motor Vehicles (……………Amendment) Rules, 2022 are-

•In the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989, in sub-rule 1 of rule 108, for clause (ii), the following shall be substituted:-

 “(ii) the amber light, if displayed by any direction indicator or as top light used on the vehicle for operating within the premises such as airports, ports, mines, and project sites, without going outside the said premises onto public roads or as top light used on a vehicle specifically designated for the purpose of patrolling of National Highways;”

The Central Government will consider the objections or suggestions that may be received for the draft rules before the expiry of the period aforesaid.
