The Industries, Energy and Labour Department, Maharashtra on September 19, 2019 has issued The Maharashtra Factories (Amendment) Rules, 2019 to further amend The Maharashtra Factories Rules, 1963.
The following has been amended namely: -
• Rule 45 which specifies “First-aid appliances” after clause (b) the following has been inserted namely: -
“(c) Sanitary Napkins of adequate quantity conforming to Indian Standards shall be provided and maintained in the women’s toilets for their use, and the same replenished on daily basis.
(d) Disposable bins with lids shall be provided within the women’s toilets for the collection of used napkins. The used napkins shall be disposed off as per the procedure approved by the Inspector.”
