Industry Specific ComplianceThe Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India has issued the description of the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) in accordance with RFC 2350.

The following has been stated namely: -

• The objective is to:

a. Prevent cyber-attacks against the country's cyberspace. 

b. Respond to cyber-attacks and minimize damage and recovery time by Reducing national vulnerability to cyber-attacks.

• The Information Technology Act 2000, designated CERT-In to serve as the national agency to perform the following functions in the area of cyber security: 

a. Collection, analysis, and dissemination of information on cyber incidents.

b. Forecast and alerts of cyber security incidents.

c. Emergency measures for handling cyber security incidents.

• CERT-In shall interact and seek assistance from certain stakeholders to collect, share and disseminate information and also to respond to and prevent cyber security incidents.
