The Government of Punjab on October 11, 2022, revised the minimum wages for unskilled workers and for other categories of workers in respect of scheduled employment vide notification No.5.0.22/C.A.11/1948/Ss.3 and 5/2015 dated May 26, 2015, linked with Consumer Price Index (C.P.I) Numbers (Centre Series 2001-100) compiled by Labour Bureau, Government of India.
The average Consumer Price Index (C.P.I) number for six months from September 2021 to February 2022 is Rs. 346.70. Thus, the minimum rates of wages for unskilled workers are Rs. 9542.18 with effect from March 01, 2022. The average Consumer Price Index (C.P.I) number for six months from March 2022 to August 2022 is 359.97. Thus, the minimum rates of wages for unskilled workers are Rs. 9907.68 with effect from September 01, 2022.

The minimum rate of wages of labour in agriculture (unskilled workers) included with meals or food grains per annum is Rs.68194.88 per annum.
This has come with effect from September 01, 2022, for their agriculture labour daily wage as of September 01, 2022, which is Rs.357.50 with meals and Rs.397.46 without meals.
