The Labour and Skills Department, Kerala on September 23, 2022 has issued notification revising the minimum wages payable to the Tile industry employees. This has come into force on September 23, 2022.
The following has been stated namely: -
• The following are the pay range for the Employees:
1. Daily Waged Employees – Rs. 580-600
2. Monthly Waged Employees – Rs. 16,720-17,000
• Dearness Allowance – In addition to the rates of basic wages, the employees shall be eligible for Dearness Allowance calculated on the basis of Consumer Price Index published for the concerned District Headquarters by the Directorate of Economics and Statistics Department for the increase in every point above 165 points in new series, ie.2011-12=100 at the rate of Rs. 60 for monthly waged employees.
• Other Conditions: -
1. If employees are getting higher wages than said in the notification, then they shall be entitled to get such higher rates.
2. The post or category not mentioned in the list shall be eligible for the basic wages prescribed for the equivalent post/category.
3. If the daily wages in respect of the category of employees for whom monthly wage is fixed as per this notification may be calculated by dividing the monthly wages by 26.
