The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) on October 17, 2022 has issued Notification regarding the Restricted entry of food items in specific ports. This will be in effect from February 01, 2023.
The import of the following items shall be permitted through only 61 ports which are directly manned and managed by FSSAI namely: -
• Milk and Milk products,
• Egg powder
• Meat and Meat products including poultry, fish and their products,
• Foods for Infant nutrition/Infant Foods
• Nutraceuticals, Health supplements, Foods for Dietary uses, Probiotic and prebiotic foods, and Foods for Special Medical Purposes.
