Industry Specific ComplianceThe Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) on October 18, 2022 has issued Notification regarding Direction regarding the extension of the facility of Provisional NOC to registered Authorised Economic Operators (AEOs).

The following has been stated namely: -

• FBOs whose food consignments are imported and have AEOs certification from customs shall declare and submit the undertaking/declaration in a form as prescribed to the concerned Authorised Officer.

• Authorised Officers are directed to carry out a visual inspection and upon satisfaction, shall draw samples and issue Provisional No Objective Certificate (P-NOC) without waiting for the analysis report from the laboratory.

• The Authorised Officer shall issue the final No Objection Certificate, on receipt of the analysis report from the laboratory, if the product conforms to the FSSAI standards.
