The Office of the Director of Factories, Government of Andhra Pradesh on October 25, 2022, has issued a notification removing the restriction on the employment of women in factories during the night shifts.
The following conditions must be met to ensure the safety of women workers at night namely: -
• Consent of night shift workers must be taken in writing
• It should not go against the provisions of the Maternity Benefit Act
• Transportation facility must be provided
• Toilet, washroom and drinking facilities must be provided and must be accessible near the workplace.
