The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) on October 28, 2022, issued the Indian Telegraph (2nd Amendment) Rules, 2022 to further amend the Indian Telegraph Rules, 1951.
The following has been amended:
In rule 525, in sub-rule (2), in clause (v), for the item (p), the following item has been substituted, namely: -
“(p) For hiring or restoration or capacity enhancement of International Bandwidth for internet connectivity to Agartala from Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company Limited Bangladesh via Cox Bazar or Kuakata, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited to be supported for a period mentioned in the Agreement from the actual date of hiring or restoration or capacity enhancement of the aforesaid bandwidth.’’.
These rules will come into force on October 28, 2022.
