The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (MoAFW) on November 25, 2022, notified the Insecticides (Second Amendment) Rules, 2022 to further amend the Insecticides Rules, 1971.
The following has been amended-
•In rule 9, which states licenses to manufacture insecticides in sub-rule (3), after clause (iii), the provision “Provided that the licensing officer shall inspect the manufacturing premises within six months from the date of endorsement of additional insecticide on the license to satisfy itself that necessary plant and machinery, safety devices and first aid facilities and the like, exist in the premises where insecticide is proposed to be manufactured.” shall be inserted.
•In the said rules, after rule 10D, the rule 10(E) Sale of Insecticides through e-commerce entity shall be inserted.
•In the said rules, in rule 10, in sub-rule 3A, in clause (iii), afterwords a “graduate in Agriculture or Science”, the words “or in Life Science” shall be inserted.
They shall come into force on November 25, 2022.
