DGFT notified regarding e-Filing and Issuance of Preferential Certificate of Origin under India-Australia Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement

Finance & Taxation ComplianceThe Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) on December 22, 2022, issued a notification regarding the Electronic filing and Issuance of Preferential Certificate of Origin (CoO) under the India-Australia Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement 

The following has been stated namely: -

• On submission and approval of applications online, the e-CoO system shall generate one copy. The authenticity of any eCoO may be verified

• The points to be noted are namely: -

1. Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) would be required for the purpose of electronic submission

2. The digital signature may be Class III and should have the IEC of the firm embedded in the DSC.

3. Any new applicant exporter would be required to initially register at the portal

4. Once registration is completed, the IEC branch details would be auto-populated as per the DGFT-IEC database 

This is in effect from December 29, 2022
