The Ministry of Power (MoP) on December 29, 2022, issued the Electricity (Amendment) Rules, 2022 to further amend the Electricity Rules, 2005.
The following has been stated namely: -
• Rule 10 which states “Appeal to the Appellate Tribunal” has been substituted to “Resolution of Disputes”
• Rule 13 which states “Surcharge payable by Consumers seeking Open Access” has been inserted
• Rule 14 which states “Timely recovery of power purchase costs by distribution licensee” has been inserted
• Rule 15 which states “Subsidy Accounting” has been inserted
• Rule 16 which states “Resource Adequacy” has been inserted
• Rule 17 which states “Development of Hydro Power” has been introduced
• Rule 18 which states “Energy Storage System” has been introduced
• Rule 19 which states “Implementation of Uniform Renewable Energy Tariff for central pool” has been introduced
• Schedule-I which states “Methodology for calculation of tariff for the Month” has been inserted
• Schedule-II which states “Fuel and Power Purchase Adjustment Methodology” has been inserted
The following has come into force on December 29, 2022
