The University Grants Commission (UGC) on January 19, 2023, issued a notification regarding UGC SWAYAM Courses for January Semester 2023.
These include three MOOCs for the revival of India as a Global Centre of Buddhist Culture and Tourism-
- History of Indian
- Buddhism Abhidhamma (Pali)
- Buddhist Philosophy
UGC has also developed a MOOC course on Community Engagement and Social Responsibility, a major recommendation of NEP 2020, as part of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) in India. The details of these MOOCs with start/end date and SWAYAM Platform course link are attached as Annexure-l to the document.
Higher Education institutions (HEls) are requested to get these MOOCs approved and adopted through their statutory bodies as per the University Grants Commission (Credit Framework for Online Learning Courses through Study Webs of Active Learning for Young Aspiring Minds) Regulations, 2021.
