The Government of Jammu and Kashmir on January 19, 2023, issued the Jammu and Kashmir Targeted Public Distribution System (Control) Order, 2023 under the powers conferred by section 3 of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955 (10 of 1955) read with Clause 9 of the Targeted Public Distribution System (Control) Order, 2015.
This order will extend to the whole of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Order states the Issuance of ration cards, Applications for ration cards, the time limit for issuing the ration cards, and the duties and responsibilities of ration card holders.
Further, it states the Opening of New Fair Price shops, the selection of the dealer, the procedure for granting of Fair Price License, and the process of Selection/Criteria.
This order will come into force at once.
