Labour ComplianceThe Government of West Bengal on February 08, 2023, issued a notification regarding declaring a paid holiday on account of a Bye-election in the 60 Sagardighi Assembly constituency.

The following has been stated namely: -

• A paid holiday shall be granted on February 27, 2023 (Monday) to all the government offices, organizations, statutory, local bodies, and Educational institutions situated within the extent of the aforementioned Assembly constituency.

• It states that the labor department of the state shall issue suitable instructions to all shops, and commercial establishments within the extent of the Assembly constituency to declare a paid holiday on the said date, to enable them to exercise their franchise.

• In case of an employee/worker working outside his concerned Assembly Constituency and where the date of Poll has not been declared as a holiday in his place of work, he/she shall be permitted to cast his/her vote by way of allowing special leave on that date.

• If the poll process continues up to the late hours on February 27, 2023, resulting in the late release of Polling Personnel from the Reception Centre rendering it difficult for them to attend office in time on February 28, 2023 (Tuesday), Special leave may be allowed for that day to deserving employees only.
